Scope and Contents

Nearly 200 folders containing documentation of speeches largely made by Ellen Galinsky and her Families and Work Institute colleagues. Some folders contain material related to the surrounding event that hosted the speaker. The bulk of the subject matter is on child care, work and family life, nationwide education, changes in the workforce, parental leave, early education, women and leadership, and child development. Events were often conferences held by organizations including National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA), the White House, and the Conference Board. Some speeches were given as testimony to Congressional committees or sub-committees.
