Includes observations of children listening to a story once, as well as reactions of children after a second reading; verbatim interviews with fifteen children retelling the story; and structured interviews with teachers. Also included are correspondence, planning notes, report minutes, guides, forms, and working notes on the research. The intent of the Stories Study (research conducted 1953-1954) was to study the impact of stories and illustrations on nursery school children in terms of emotional response.
